I spend so much time each day gathering information for articles and posts that it seemed silly not to compose a newsletter.
Below is a summary of all the most fascinating articles and information I’ve come across in the last 48hrs.
First half of summaries are available to all. The second half is paywalled as these naturally take time to put together.

The MHRA's approach to handling Yellow Card reports, including serious and fatal cases or those involving children or pregnancy, is marred by a significant lack of procedure. There is an absence of a structured method for following up on these reports, which is crucial for investigating reported deaths and severe side effects linked to medications. Essential information, such as the patient's age, medical records, time between medication administration and adverse events, and batch data, is often missing from Yellow Card reports, leaving the MHRA with a serious information void.
“We present suggestions for improvement of scientific advice to government, aiming to minimise risks of unintended consequences such as loss of life, cost, and ecological damage. Key improvements would be: maximising diversity of advice including crowd-sourcing; rapid challenge to the advice through red teams and crowd-review; ensuring reasonable accountability of scientists to discourage hype; and protection of scientists from career damage if they rationally disagree with mainstream views. The precautionary principle needs to be balanced against the opportunity costs incurred by 'playing safe'. Institutions such as universities, scientific academies and journals should not take official positions on scientific issues since this stifles diversity of thought, freedom of speech and the reliability of advice.”
New York state judge, Ralph J. Porzio, issued a ruling on Wednesday that mandates the reinstatement of ten employees who were terminated by the New York City Department of Education for their refusal to receive the COVID vaccine, and further requires that they receive back pay. Porzio's judgment determined the city's refusal to grant religious exemptions to specific teachers was not only unconstitutional but also characterised their treatment as capricious and arbitrary. The case at hand involved a group comprising principals, teachers, and other school personnel who initiated legal action against the Department of Education with help of Children Health Defense (RFK’s outlet).
A bipartisan coalition of Members of Parliament (MPs) has called for the immediate suspension and an impartial review of a government entity accused of infringing upon free speech. Conservative MP David Davis and Green Party leader Caroline Lucas have jointly addressed Michelle Donelan, the Secretary of State for Digital, Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT), expressing their concerns regarding the Counter Disinformation Unit (CDU) engaging in "online dissent" monitoring and censorship. Recent reports shed light on how the CDU in recent years shifted its focus to the Covid pandemic, surveilling social media content posted by members of the British public.
Books have reportedly gone missing from a public high school library in Mississauga, Ontario, according to students. Reina Takata, a student at Erindale Secondary School, noted the absence of books such as "Harry Potter," "The Hunger Games," and "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry" during her visits to the school library on her lunch breaks. Their removal is a part of the new “equity-based” book weeding process implemented by the Peel District School Board, at the behest of the provincial Minister of Education, (PDSB) to ensure “library books are inclusive”. Orwell isn’t turning in his grave, he’s kicking and screaming...
