It takes 25 YEARS for most energy sources to start actually contributing to energy production, this includes wind turbines and nuclear power. Solar energy is better but nobody knows how long the solar panels will actually last.
Net zero is insanity until you recognise that WE are made of carbon and WE are the zero these elites want.
They talk about rising sea levels but ignore the TONS of concrete poured into the oceans to stabilise the wind turbines.
They talk about carbon capture ONLY so that the elites can fly in their private jets to climate conferences, carbon capture is basically chopping down trees and burying them.
I concur, the climate ideology is a death cult, as you say, its our personal footprints the zero carbon is actually aimed at the ordinary [cattle] as they call us, the parasitical hidden elite want rid of all of us, . their useful idiot ideologues have no clue they are also to be eliminated.. however as a Christian, they cant get rid of Gods creation God wins they lose..
It is so damn scary - the politicians know absolutely nothing about the departments they are in charge of and the civil servants no longer care about any of it. The media lost all respectability during the Brexit years (hysterical finger-pointing is not civilised discussion and debate). The people in charge everywhere have the expertise, knowledge and experience of teenagers. There are no adults in any rooms. There will be mass unemployment, mass civil unrest, many avoidable deaths, no electricity, no petroleum-based products, no more government borrowing (who's going to lend to a country that is no better than a third world, chaos-driven mess?) so no more welfare. People need to wake up now and start refusing to participate - by the time the power gets turned off it will be too late for a civilised debate on whether the climate is changing and whether CO2 is bad or any other the other stupid topics the idiots believe in.
It's outrageous that these MPs are not held accountable for their actions, especially when if it can be proved they knew but said nothing.
It's like the same back when a gas consultant and former government adviser warned government officials about getting rid of the Rough Offshore Gas Storage Facility was a very dangerous. They dug their heels in, didn't listen to the advice given and now because of this stupidity we are now in a vulnerable position and the situation will only get worse. Nothing changes😠
Rough was, for once, a correct decision. It had severe technical problems that meant it could only be made usable for a fraction of its nominal capacity. A very expensive way to achieve a negligible 2 days' worth of storage.
See Kathryn Porter's excellent Watt Logic blog for details.
I predicted some time ago that the Labour Government would fall as soon as the first blackout hit and I stand by my prediction. I'm getting a Tesla Powerwall battery installed - expensive but it should keep my household going for around 24 hours in the inevitable event of a power cut.
Because that would be expensive (I have looked into it) and cost money to run, whereas the solar installation will save me around £600p.a., more if energy prices keep going up. It remains an option if the situation worsens.
Great article. Just to add, we must never be afraid to call out the CO2 cause climate change lie. The whole Net Zero thing is based on logical fallacies. Placating it in any way just leads to the furtherment of the lie.
The growing influence of hidden elites, corporate giants, and global institutions shaping our world today didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of a long term, planned reset that has been unfolding for many years. The cultural landscape we’re grappling with now where social media and online platforms wield immense power has been carefully cultivated over time to lead us to this very moment. It’s a top down, orchestrated effort that has leveraged technology and media to shape our perceptions, our beliefs, and even our political systems.
The internet, which began as a small and somewhat innocent tool in the early 2000s, has been transformed over time into the sprawling, hyper connected ecosystem we see today. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and now X have become central to how we communicate, interact, and even think about the world around us. These platforms have been strategically used, not just for social connection, but to push agendas and narratives that align with the interests of powerful elites. They have become the vehicles through which culture is manipulated, ideas are seeded, and political movements are created.
This deliberate shaping of culture, especially through the lens of social media, has had profound effects on governance systems, particularly in the UK. As social media has grown, it has come to dominate not only how we interact socially, but also how we engage with politics. It has shifted power from traditional institutions to the online space, where conversations are often driven by influencers, trends, and fleeting viral moments, rather than thoughtful policy discussion. In many ways, governance systems have started to fall apart, as politicians, driven by the demands of social media and public perception, prioritise personal branding and quick wins over long-term, substantive governance. The pace at which decisions are made has quickened, but it’s often at the cost of depth and foresight.
This is how we’ve ended up in the place we are today a place where the reality of the energy crisis, for example, is sidelined in favor of popular, media-driven solutions. The climate agenda, pushed by both corporations and governments, is the product of a long period of cultural engineering. Social media, by design, feeds into this constantly reinforcing certain narratives while silencing others. This digital architecture has created an environment where the issues we face are no longer seen in terms of practical solutions but as cultural battles to be fought online.
This brings us to the revelation by James, the whistleblower, whose exposure of the behind the-scenes machinations further shines a light on this planned reset. James’ disclosure is just another piece of the puzzle, confirming what many have long suspected, that the systems of power in both politics and business are intricately connected and are actively steering society in a direction that serves a select few. It’s no accident that the very tools used to foster a culture of compliance and conformity are also the same tools used to manipulate public opinion, drive policy, and consolidate power.
The reset, engineered over many years, has culminated in a reality where governance is no longer about serving the public good, but about playing to the whims of a culture created by the elites. And as these systems unravel, we are left with the consequences, an energy crisis, a fractured political system, and a sense that our futures are no longer in our hands. The cultural shift that began with social media manipulation has now led us to a place where governance systems once designed to protect and serve the populace are falling apart. This is where we are today. And as James’ whistleblowing shows, this wasn’t by accident; it’s the result of a long, calculated effort to shape the world as we know it....
I may have missed it but regarding NESO, the person with overall control is the Secretary of State in the Dept for Energy and Net Zero. One Ed Miliband. It’s published on Companies House. So he took independent advice from a company he controls. Can’t make this stuff up.
As someone who likes to plan ahead, being a carer near the bottom of the income bracket and knowing that blackouts in the future are a possibility I asked around if there are any forms of heating that aren't dependent on electricity in some way that are not banned or going to be banned in the next few years? I got no replies at all. I've looked around and can't find anything except maybe candles. Not very encouraging.
Thanks for this article and for alerting people to the issues.
Re: "Clocking in at 500 pages, Rishi Sunak’s Energy Act 2023 included a little-noticed provision allowing the government to remotely switch off electricity in homes that use smart meters and appliances."
I am interested in what is said in the Act and where.
I searched the Act at the above link for "switch" and "remote" but didn't find anything. The information at the link below says that: "Energy smart appliances can be switched on or off remotely but only if the consumer gives consent."

Why not a diesel generator?
Because that would be expensive (I have looked into it) and cost money to run, whereas the solar installation will save me around £600p.a., more if energy prices keep going up. It remains an option if the situation worsens.

And I say that as an environmentalist.

But in any case, I am mindful that our government once said (among other things) that "this [covid] vaccine will not be used for children"...
Sounds like the USA
I would anticipate a spike in crime and public disorder during blackouts too. This ain’t the 70s.
